About the Department
Automobile Engineering is a specialized branch of Mechanical Engineering. It teaches manufacturing, designing, mechanical mechanisms as well as operations of automobiles. It serves as an introduction to vehicle engineering which deals with motorcycles, cars, buses, trucks, and other vehicles.
The course includes the study of mechanical, electronic, software, and safety elements. It covers important engineering attributes and disciplines relevant to automotive engineers. With the rapid growth of auto component manufacturers and automobile industries, there is a great demand for skilled Automobile Engineers.
Notably, Chandil Polytechnic is the only college in the state offering this course. The program offers wide range of opportunities in automobile manufacturing industries, production plants, service stations, state road transport corporations, private transport companies, insurance companies, motor vehicle departments, and more.
Lateral Admission (Direct 2nd Year)
Students can join directly in the 3rd Semester (2nd Year)
- ITI in Automobile Engineering / Mechanical / Motor Vehicle Trade
- +2 / I.Sc with Mathematics
- 12th PCM Pass
- +2 Vocational Course (Automobile / Mechanical)
Note: Limited lateral entry seats available. Admission will be as per JCECEB guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
- 1 Admission is through the Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination (PECE) conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (J.C.E.C.E.B), Ranchi, Jharkhand.
- 2 Minimum qualification required is 10th / Matric pass from a recognized board.
- 3 ITI, +2 with Mathematics / ISc pass, or PCM 12th pass / +2 Vocational Course students are eligible for direct admission in 2nd Year (Lateral Entry).
- 4 PECE Test is mandatory for students seeking admission through counseling.
