About the Department
Electrical & Electronics Engineering deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. It is a mother discipline to a very large number of fields starting from energy, power generation and distribution, electronics, computer science, controls and so on.
Rural electrification continues to be a major job creating activity while maintenance of grids and networks remains a major task. The stream has very wide employment opportunities both in public and private sectors.
The curriculum focuses on power systems, electronics, control systems, instrumentation, and modern technologies like automation, renewable energy, and smart grids. Diploma graduates are highly valued for their strong practical knowledge and problem-solving skills in the electrical & electronics industry.
Lateral Admission (Direct 2nd Year)
Students can join directly in the 3rd Semester (2nd Year)
- ITI in Automobile Engineering / Mechanical / Motor Vehicle Trade
- +2 / I.Sc with Mathematics
- 12th PCM Pass
- +2 Vocational Course (Automobile / Mechanical)
Note: Limited lateral entry seats available. Admission will be as per JCECEB guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
- 1 Admission is through the Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination (PECE) conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (J.C.E.C.E.B), Ranchi, Jharkhand.
- 2 Minimum qualification required is 10th / Matric pass from a recognized board.
- 3 ITI, +2 with Mathematics / ISc pass, or PCM 12th pass / +2 Vocational Course students are eligible for direct admission in 2nd Year (Lateral Entry).
- 4 PECE Test is mandatory for students seeking admission through counseling.
